The Glamour Boys have a tricky tie against Manica Diamonds at Gibbo Stadium today and after defeating Caps United on Sunday, the players are on cloud nine and coach Genesis Mangombe wants them not to get over-excited.

DYNAMOS are aiming for a perfect run in their last six matches of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign while praying for Ngezi Platinum Stars slip-ups along the way.

DeMbare know they can ill afford any drop of points in their chase of table-toppers Ngezi, who have an eight-point cushion.

The Glamour Boys have a tricky tie against Manica Diamonds at Gibbo Stadium today and after defeating Caps United on Sunday, the players are on cloud nine and coach Genesis Mangombe wants them not to get over-excited.

Mangombe wants his charges to close the gap today.

He says today’s match might pose a stiffer challenge for his charges, with Manica Diamonds doing well in the league.

“We are coming from a win against Caps United and everyone is over the moon, but the boys must not be over-excited and guard against complacency in this crucial game,” he said.

“As the technical team, we know this match’s importance and must win it. Gibbo is very difficult and we have to break records because if we win this one, we are narrowing the gap on Ngezi Platinum.

“They are travelling to Hwange, who are fighting relegation and they might drop points there. If we manage to win and they lose, we are closing the gap.”

Added Mangombe: “We must psyche up the boys because Manica and Caps are different. Manica Diamonds are doing well in the league, but I am not afraid of anything in the field of play. Our tactical approach to the game is good and the boys know what needs to be done. It is going to be an entertaining match and we need to grind the result.”

Mangombe, however, rued the absence of influential midfielder Donald Mudadi, who is still serving a suspension after being censured in the win against Ngezi.

He missed the ZPC Kariba match, but sparkled in the Chibuku Super Cup win over Caps United.

Defender Elvis Moyo is still out with an injury.

Dynamos host Black Rhnos at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Manica Diamonds assistant coach Tafadzwa Mashiri said it is going to be an exciting home stretch.

The Gem Boys bounced back from a four-match winless run to beat Hwange and they are in the race for the title, 10 points behind Ngezi Platinum Stars with 18 points to play for.

“The preparations for the Dynamos match are going on well just like any other match. We also have a clean bill of health,” Mashiri said.

“The last matches are going to be very interesting, but our main objectives have been to collect as many points as we can. That remains our sole objective as we go into this game and we will see how the season ends.”

The Jairos Tapera-coached side will be away to Sheasham at Bata on Saturday.
