Here we go again: flamboyant US rapper DaBaby to grace Harare

US rapper DaBaby – born Jonathan Lyndale Kirk– will on September 23 perform at the Old Hararians Sports Club

US rapper DaBaby – born Jonathan Lyndale Kirk– will on September 23 perform at the Old Hararians Sports Club in the capital courtesy of Roar Entertainment event planners, it has emerged.

“We [are] shutting down, Zimbabwe. September 23rd, I will be performing live at Old Hararians. I can’t wait to see y’all. From Mabvuku to Borrowdale, make sure you get your tickets right now. The Talk Chart DaBaby Concert is not to be missed. I might come early and spend a couple of days there and then do the concert, then spend a couple of days afterwards,” DaBaby confirmed in a snippet video advertising the event.

The event comes as a follow-up to Roar Entertainment’s much-hyped gig where they hosted another American rapper Rick Ross last year.

"No one throws a big concert in Zimbabwe like Roar Entertainment @richforever (Rick Ross Twitter handle)...We shut the country down…Roar Entertainment presents the Talk Chart DaBaby concert,” co-organizer Shaleen “Ms Shally” Nullens said in a series of online posts.

The news which has been trending on social media has attracted mixed reactions with most music followers either professing lack of knowledge about the award-winning Hip Hop artiste or the logic of roping in Jah Prayzah – a largely traditional musician– as his main supporting act.
