Cimas mourns ZimParks marathon runner

THE Cimas Health Group has expressed its sadness following the death of Norman Mahla, a 40-year-old member of the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Authority (ZimParks), during the Cimas iGo Half Marathon in Bulawayo on Sunday.

In a statement, Cimas said Mahla ran the 10km race representing the ZimParks team, but collapsed towards the end of the race.

His body was ferried to the United Bulawayo Hospitals mortuary.

Cimas Health Group chief executive Vulindlela Ndlovu said: “I and everyone at Cimas were saddened by the death of Mr Mahla, especially as it came during an event that was promoting good health. The cause of his sudden death will only be known after a post-mortem.”
