75 magistrates to deal with political violence

Mushure said the new law officers would help in the clearing of backlogs in the lower courts.

THE Judicial Services Commission (JSC) has deployed 75 provincial magistrates to deal with cases of political violence in all 58 operational courts countrywide.

This was revealed by Chief Magistrate Faith Mushure in Harare yesterday after swearing in 15 new magistrates.

Mushure said the new law officers would help in the clearing of backlogs in the lower courts.

“The new magistrates will be deployed to areas with shortages of the presiding court officers such as Kezi, Bikita and Chikombedzi,” Mushure said.

She urged the magistrates to deliver their duties impartially.
