Moyo headlines Artists Against Drug Abuse Concert

The free show being organised by Kunashe Recording Studio will also feature 30 other gospel musical groups from the Mutare record label sharing the stage with Moyo at the gala.

MUTARE-BASED gospel singer Dorcas Moyo today headlines the Artists Against Drug Abuse Concert set for The Courtald Theatre in Mutare.

The free show being organised by Kunashe Recording Studio will also feature 30 other gospel musical groups from the Mutare record label sharing the stage with Moyo at the gala.

Popular gospel musician, Bethany Pasinawako, will be the guest artist at the concert. The Ndinzwerei hitmaker is expected to bring down the Courtald Theatre with holy tunes.

Other musicians to perform at the concert include Petronella Mukunganwa, Melania Fidze, Caroline Chidzikwe and Honest Basvi.

In an interview with NewsDay Life & Style, the concert organiser, Ollin Anderson, who is also a producer at Kunashe Recording Studio, said all was in place for the event.

“This is a thanksgiving concert and we have dedicated it towards fighting drug abuse in the country. As musicians, we are joining other stakeholders in fighting drug abuse, which has become a menace in our society,” he said.

“We found it important to address this issue through music. It is the best chance for the fans to come in their numbers to watch their favourite artistes on the stage.”

Anderson thanked partners in the organisation of the event.

Considering the stellar line up of performers, the show has the potential to capture the imaginations of all and sundry.
