MICHAEL Charamba scored a brace as Chicken Inn overpower Yadah at Baobab Stadium to end a three-match winless run.

Malvern Hwata gave the Gamecocks a second-minute lead before Charamba doubled the lead on 37th minute.

The winger made the game safe for the Bulawayo side three minutes after the break with a free kick.

Junior Zindoga pulled one back for Yadah on 81st minute from the penalty spot, but the goal proved to be just a consolation.

It was a badly needed win for underfire Chicken Inn coach Prince Matore whose team had failed to win their last three matches, losing ground to the leading pack.

"We are happy because we are coming from a defeat so we desperately wanted to collect maximum points," a relieved Matore said.

"The early goal helped the confidence of the team. We have been creating these chances and failing to score but today we managed to score, which is good," he added.

Yadah coach Expense Chitukutuku, whose side was coming from a morale-boosting win over champions FC Platinum last week, said it "was a bad day in office for his men".

At Luveve Stadium Herentals got sweet revenge for last year’s Chibuku Cup defeat to Bulawayo Chiefs after they came back from a goal down to upset the Bulawayo outfit in a league match.

Inform striker Obriel Chirinda gave Bulawayo Chiefs a fifth minute lead but goals from Tino Benza and Davison Marowa completed an impressive comeback for Herentals.

Against the run of play, Benza equalised for Herentals just before the break after a Prince Chama cut-back as the two teams went for halftime level on goals.

In the 76th minute Davison Murowa fired from close range with the ball bobbing inside the box after Chiefs failed to clear the lines.

Herentals coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziwa was visibly ecstatic after the victory and felt they had atoned for the Chibuku Cup defeat.

"They (Chiefs) have been giving us a lot of problems for some time in the league, particularly in the Chibuku Super Cup; today it was our time. We could say revenge, having taken the three points in the league. The fighting by the boys today was good. There is nothing sweeter in football than winning from behind. I am happy with the mentality of the boys," said Mutiwekuziwa.

On the other hand, Chiefs coach Nkosiyazi Ncube standing in for Joseph Sibindi, blamed complacency for the home side's defeat.

“The first half, first 10 to 15 minutes we played well. We created many chances. We could have scored three goals. But after scoring the first goal we relaxed. We struggled to defend their long balls," said Ncube.
