A Ndebele speaking man from Domboshava says he faces constant harassment from some locals who are demanding that he goes back to Matabeleland.
This emerged at the Harare magistrate court on Friday where Reason Sibanda from Ngwerume village under Chief Chinamhora was seeking a peace order against Emerina Chirau and Nyarai Bopoto.
“They uprooted my crops and told me that I should go back to Matabeleland,” he submitted.
“They promised that if I do not go back, they will keep making my life a living hell in Domboshava.”
Sibanda said he once reported the matter to the Chief but lost the case.
Chirau and Bopoto both denied the allegations.
“He is an attention seeker and enjoys bringing us to the court spreading lies that we want to chase him away because he is from Matabeleland, " they submitted.
The court heard that the parties had another similar matter that was heard before the civil and criminal court.

Harare magistrate Tamara Chibindi heard that sometime in March, Denver Gurire visited Yeukai Musonza's workplace in Eastlea with an HIV test kit demanding her to take a test.

“Recently, he came with a test kit and forced me to take the test to which I tested negative.”
She said her ex-husband is now demanding that she reimburses him US$5 which he used to buy the test kit.
In his response, Gurire claimed that his ex-wife misses him.
“I do not oppose her application for a protection order, but I only went to her workplace once when she invited me after saying she missed me," he submitted.—REJOICE PHIRI
Zimbabweans urged to take flu jabsZimbabweans have been urged to get flu vaccine shots to prevent evolving influenza viruses as winter approaches.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, winters have been characterised by severe influenza outbreaks.
Influenza vaccination is currently the principal means of reducing or counteracting influenza mortality and morbidity burden. A flu vaccine to last over a period of a year is available for purchase in pharmacies.
“There is also a need to continue observing Covid-19 prevention guidelines to ensure the situation does not get out of hand," said health expert, Josephat Chiripanyanga.
New Avakash International marketing manager Blessing Chikwenjere, said vaccination helps limit the extremity of influenza strains.
“It is important to get a high quality vaccine which provides full cover of the influenza virus strains, like the two A subtypes and two B types contained in the vaccine,” Chikwenjere said. — VANESSA GONYE
