Zakaria, Baba Harare, Apama for Musabvunda event

The two-day fitness and music fiesta will see the two musicians supported by dance sensation Apama and is expected to draw fitness enthusiasts and music lovers from around Zimbabwe.

BY STYLE REPORTER PROGRESSIVE fitness and business networking, Musabvunda which specialises in gym and sportwear production has roped in sungura godfather Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria and firebrand jiti musician Baba Harare for their inaugural fitness event and music festival to be held on September 10 to 11 at the RBZ Sports Club in Mabelreign, Harare.

The two-day fitness and music fiesta will see the two musicians supported by dance sensation Apama and is expected to draw fitness enthusiasts and music lovers from around Zimbabwe.

Speaking to Standard Style, event spokesman Mubu Delorne Mubu said they are putting together a magnificent event that will give fitness enthusiasts and music lovers an experience of their lifetime.

“The inaugural Musabvunda fitness event and music festival will be held from September 10 to 11 at RBZ Sports Club in Mabelreign, Harare starting with the 5km, 10km and 21km half marathon then capping it with the strengths and fitness competitions as well as the music festival,” Mubu said.

“Registration is only USD15 which covers medals, T-shirts and caps, refreshments plus traditional meal like sadza and mabhonzo in sync with our healthy lifestyle thrust,” he said.

Mubu said they were expecting a crowd of plus or minus 300 and have put all the logistics in place.

“We want this to be a top drawer event which is why we have lined up amazing performers to entertain our guests,” he said.

“We have Madzibaba Zakaria to entertain those with a mature ear and take fans down memory lane while Baba Harare will bring the much needed energy and zest and last but not least, Apama will thrill the crowds with his dance routines and antics.”

Baba Harare expressed his joy to be part of the noble event.

“I am one person who values every opportunity to entertain and engage with my followers and performing at a fitness themed event also speaks to my values because as a body builder I also respect physical well-being,” he said.

“I am happy to be sharing the stage with our elder in the industry Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria as well as my brother Apama and I encourage fans to come prepared.”

Madzibaba Zakaria also said he was elated to be part of the Musabvunda fitness event and  music festival.

“Music has got the power to unite people and I am even more encouraged by the Musabvunda team’s quest to promote physical well-being and mental wellness,” he said.

“What has kept me this fast is a strict adherence to healthy behaviour and I hope as many Zimbabweans also enlist for such programmes so that they learn and get inspired.”

The official launch of the Musabvunda event was held during the week at Joina City in Harare with organisers promising fireworks come September 10 and 11.

Various organisations among them Nissan Clover Leaf Motors, Zithatha Group, Inyasha Boards, Roseland, YA-FM, Palawani Lakeworld Resort, Label Solution, Cimas Medlabs, Karorina’s, Med Point and Rera’s butchery, Bar and Grill are partnering and participating.

The Musabvunda network, which is the brainchild of corporate executive and people development expert Kudzai Pasipanodya, draws its membership from various progressive and peace loving Zimbabweans who want to excel in their areas of interest and keep healthy.

As the name suggests, the network promotes relentless pursuit of one’s goals and dreams without being swayed by the odds or challenges at hand.
