Sasha “Amadhuve” Lishomwa

AFRO-FUSION musician Sasha “Amadhuve” Lishomwa will today host a birthday bash at Club Vegas in Harare’s Southerton suburb.

A protégé and niece of the late mbira musician Edna Chizema, aka Mbuya Madhuve, Sasha Amadhuve will be joined by Diana Mangwenya, Progress Chipfumo, Peter Moyo, Wanai and Ammi Jamanda, among others.

Sulumani Chimbetu is the guest artiste at the birthday bash, which is being powered by Bira Remadzisahwira Production and kicks off at 4pm.

Amadhuve Sasha is expected to play songs from her album titled Mutsindo which carries 10 tracks.

It is going to be a treat for those, who like the fusion of the mbira beat with contemporary instruments.

Machinda, Nehanda Unplugged and Nhai Mambo are some of the best tracks from the pint-sized musician.

“It’s going to be a massive show of traditional beats,” Sasha Amadhuve told Standard Style.

“We have brought colleagues who are into traditional music and Sulumani will join us as the guest artiste.

“I promise that we are going to give our best to celebrate my important day.”

Sasha Amadhuve has been doing well over the years, performing in clubs and at State functions.

She is former backing vocalist at Chipfumo’s Sound of Motherland outfit.
