Mapeza to play rookies

AFTER winning their fourth PSL title with three games to spare, FC Platinum gaffer Norman Mapeza has hinted that he might give game time to some of his rookies that have been sidelined during the peak of this campaign.

The platinum miners face Yadah at Mandava stadium tomorrow.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Mapeza hinted that he would most likely shuffle his squad, but reiterated that they are not resting on their laurels until the season ends.

"I won't make much changes, we will see, it's a 50/50 that we will make changes, but some players will get their chance to play," Mapeza said.

"It's a difficult game, Yadah is a quality side. They have done well. It's a team that likes to keep the ball. Like I said all these games are never going to be easy. People might think we are done with the league, but we are not yet done.

"We need to keep the same approach. We need to finish the job on a high note. We don't have to change our approach and that desire we had since the season started."

They have gone for 17 matches without defeat and will hope to keep the spotless record until the season ends.

At this point, they can finish the league with a maximum of 74 points if they win the remaining matches against Yadah, Triangle and Cranborne Bullets.

"I said in our last game against Caps United that it's a massive achievement for this institution. It was all because of unity and hard work, support from our bosses and the technical.

"If it wasn't because of unity, we couldn't be here. We showed al ot of resilience throughout the season. I knew exactly what I wanted despite people not giving us a chance, but I'm someone who believes in hard work and I think it really worked for us this season," Mapeza added.
