UNDERFIRE Chivi South legislator Killer Zivhu (Zanu PF) has slammed party bigwigs and government officials who bootlick President Emmerson Mnangagwa while looting from ordinary people and scuttling his vision for a middle-income economy by 2030.
Speaking at a Press briefing in Harare yesterday, Zivhu said Mnangagwa’s vision could fail to materialise by 2030 as the cartels were running programmes that benefit a few people in the country.
“I also urge other politicians, let us not be just bootlickers. Let us work together with the President and let’s see more action than just talking. People are not supposed to support Mnangagwa and Zanu PF so that they can have the leeway to embezzle funds to fatten their pockets. If you support the President stop bootlicking, but lead by example and be the torchbearers of his vision 2030,” he said.
“The people on the ground must be able to identify themselves with and to appreciate vision 2030 through his foot soldiers who are on the ground. If you can’t do that you better keep quiet. We know that you do feed on politics. You have come to Zanu PF to make money and to earn a living.”
He said the vision 2030 blueprint should not follow the path of its predecessor Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation (ZimAsset) which was implemented by the late former President Robert Mugabe’s regime but benefited only party bigwigs.
Zivhu, who was until recently facing expulsion from Zanu PF for calling on Mnangagwa and MDC leader Nelson Chamisa to engage in talks, said through his Killer Zivhu Foundation he had picked sex workers and homeless people from Budiriro, Mbare, Epworth and Hopley to equip them with entrepreneurial skills.
“I have taken it upon myself to be the torchbearer of this noble vision 2030 by taking it to the grassroots level. We are supporting 100 sex workers and homeless people from various parts of Harare. We should not leave these important sections of the society in our journey to achieve vision 2030,” he said.

Zivhu said sex workers ventured into the trade due to circumstances that include poverty and rape.
“We want to equip them with entrepreneurship skills and give them startups. All these 100 are taking driving lessons. They will also be selling (South African made) Mia sanitary pads and diapers so that they can earn a living,” he said.
Zivhu appealed to government to give him land in or near Harare for his Killer Zivhu Foundation to support the sex workers and homeless people to venture into poultry projects.
